The antiphonal organ is located on back gallery. In 1987 the console was modernized (electro-pneumatic switches replaced by solid-state electronics) and enlarged (prepared for additional stops and a new Solo divisiopn). The State Trumpet was mounted horizontally above the choir box (1981?), but now is located in front of the antiphonal organ (1990). Also some other stops were replaced. The organ was one of the last large instruments built by Aeolian-Skinner before the crash of the firm in 1972 and was planned in close collaboration with Harold Wagoner (Philadelphia), the architect of the church. The modern church building has a reverberation time of about 2-3 sec. Source: C. Saint-Saens: Symphony No. 3, "Organ".
